Met up with BillD at Lancing for a change of scenery. Cracking session. Absolutely bonkers bonkers windy again, even windier than yesterday initially, but I soon tuned in to the conditions so that I was maxed on the 4.0 but "comfortable". And there were...WAVES!!! Not H'ove onshore huge messy lumps or Shoreham mushburgers but long clean lines that could be picked up and stalked from way out back with big flat gaps inbetween. The perfect cross-shore direction allowed multiple bottom-turn action and I scored loads of really great waves. It's always a sign of a good riding day when you deliberately try not to jump to conserve energy and ground upwind for the DTL on the way back in and today that was definitely the case. OK the waves were by no means perfect and my performance on them often left a lot to be desired but was just incredible to get such great conditions in Shingleshire in August! It felt more like November out there. Sooo much better than Shoreham yesterday - cleaner waves, less chop, less rip, less shorebreak. My fourth 4.0/4.5 session in 5 days. :)
